How does Washington Village integrate into the neighborhood?
A pocket-park and a system of pedestrian paths connect to an open site plan that welcomes the public. Preservation of mature trees and renovation of the historic schoolhouse ensure that Washington Village integrates into the fabric of this historic Boulder neighborhood.
How much parking is there?
An underground structure and surface lot provide enough parking for the entire community.
What are the results of the city-directed Recommendation Group process?
In 2007 neighbors of the Washington Village site raised concerns about the proposed project with the City of Boulder. A team from Wonderland Hill Development Company worked with the community to address several matters. Several changes were made to the site plan: the scale of the project was reduced (from 40 to 33 units), and the park-like campus was enhanced to welcome the entire neighborhood.
Who is the developer?
Wonderland Hill Development Company is a Boulder-based developer with a 35-year history in developing sustainable communities. Its founder, Jim Leach, is a pioneer in the American cohousing movement.
